Entrance Preparation Course (EPC) AKA Bridge Course

NNMGA provides reliable platform for all mountain enthusiasts to pursue their career as IFMGA/NNMGA certified Mountain Guide. As we all aware that Mountaineering is a traditional occupation in Nepal from around a century. There are numerous mountaineering professionals in Nepal who perform their job in different level in mountaineering. So, we design the course to make eligible for entry exam of Aspirant Guide Course to those traditional mountain guides.

Entrance Preparation Course (EPC) widely known as Bridge course is 17 days mountaineering training in a single component. The course is mixed of rock and ice crafts activities with some theoretical knowledge on mountaineering management and weather information.

Course Details:

Participation: Nepalese experienced mountaineers

Eligibility: Successfully summited of any two 8,000-meter mountain, any two 7,000-meter peak with 3 different peaks up to 7,000 meters.

Course Duration: 17 Days

Course Module: Theory and Practical

Course Focus on: Rock, Ice and Snow crafts activities

Location: Kathmandu and Rolwaling or Langtang or Khumbu or Manang

Course Commencement on: February/March

Objective of the Course:

To provide the training forum for all Nepalese mountaineering enthusiasts to become an International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA)’s accredited Mountain guide.
To improve the mountaineering skills of the applicant.
To offer NNMGA as the mountaineering training destination for all Nepalese mountaineering.
To support IFMGA from the region to spread the information about IFMGA’s certified mountain guide education.

After completion of Entrance Preparation Course (EPC) aka bridge course, trainees are eligible to take part in the entry exam of Aspirant Guide Course (AGC), the gateway to become certified IFMGA/NNMGA Mountain guide.

For the Admission in the course, applicant should be:

Nepalese citizen
Mountaineering experience; minimum of successfully summited of 2, 8000 meter mountains, 2, 7000 meter mountains and 3, 6000 meter mountains (certificates and photographs needed)
